Digital SLR Cameras
Digital SLR Cameras are single lens reflex cameras that are already digitalized. These cameras use a mechanical mirror system in directing light from the lens to an optical viewfinder found on the back side of the camera.
Digital SLR Cameras are basically preferred by intermediate and professional photographers, because of the pentaprism technology that these cameras use which makes it very favorable for fast shooting.
The system that these Digital SLR Cameras uses provide a fast action photo made possible by a fast acting mirror and a shutter. The taking of pictures happens automatically in just a matter of milliseconds. In fact, for some cameras, photos can be taken 3-10 times in one second. Aside from this feature, Digital SLR Cameras are favored by professional photographers because the preview of framing near the moment of exposure is accurately provided. Moreover, there is a wide variety of interchangeable lenses that are procurable for the users.
Aside from these, Digital SLR Cameras consist of a larger sensor as compared to compact digitals. The large sensor allocates for the similar depth of field and picture angle to film formats. Although the term DLSR generally refers to 35 mm camera formats, other medium format cameras are also referred to as Digital SLR Cameras.
In the design of DLSR cameras, certain factors are being integrated into the product. These include the sensor size and image quality, digital medium format, mode dial, angle of view, and the depth-of-field control.
Today, there are various Digital SLR Cameras available commercially. A number of recognized manufacturers of cameras have produced their own versions of the DLSR.
The top five DLSR cameras in the market include Canon EOS Rebel T1i, Canon EOS Rebel XSi, Nikon D90, Canon EOS Rebel XS, and Nikon D300.

Why Cameras Cell Phones Will Not Replace Digital Cameras In 2007
OK, I’m going to hold myself to a bold statement here and say that Camera Cell Phones will not replace Digital Cameras in 2007. In fact, make that – Will Not Replace Them EVER.
How do I know this? Well, I live in constant fear that whatever piece of technology I buy, will become obsolete a few months from whenever I buy it.
I believed this so strongly that I have not bought several items because I had convinced myself that that they will be useless and not supported in the near future.
My main reason for this is that I had been secretly convincing myself that the Mobile Phone was going to be the single electronic item that I, or anyone else, would need. And that all other electronic gadgets would be integrated with the mobile phone.
However, I recently caved in and acquired an iPod. I was initially holding out for a cell phone with a good MP3 player, but circumstances dictated otherwise.
All I can say now is that I can’t imagine using anything but an iPod for listening to MP3 on the move. I’ve been convinced by the marketing, advertising, design and most of all the branding of the iPod. Everything about the iPod is about listening to music on the move.
And that’s why a mobile phone with a digital camera will never be a Canon PowerShot SD600.
And likewise, a Nikon Digital Camera will never be a Nokia Mobile Phone. Nikon make cameras – Nokia make cell phones!
So here is my theory to back up my statement in the title. It’s all about Brand and Positioning.
Branding is like making a promise. Canon promise to make you the super-deluxe digital camera that will take photos better (or at least as good as) any other digital camera on the market.
Positioning is where Canon have placed themselves in the market. Think Canon, think Digital Camera (ok, and maybe printers too, but it’s all about producing quality imaging!)
Can you think of any company that will promise to make you mobile phone take pictures that are better than any produced by Canon or Nikon digital cameras?
